He doeth as he doeth, and what recourse have we? he carrieth out his will, he ordaineth what he pleaseth. Then better for thee to bow down thy head in submission, and put thy trust in the all mercifull lord. The language is old fashioned because the bahai have special requirements about maintaining the integrity of their texts. It is a verbatim quote from an english prayer book. In farsi, for instance, i believe that the masculine gender of god is absent and is really non-specific.
